Rima smiled brightly replying with a mind message. ‘It is cool! When I learned that I had telepathy powers, when I was little everyone was really jealous’ Rima’s smile got, even brighter as, she started to remember some of her childhood memories. She then took another bite from her cake before sending another mind message. ‘My older brother was the one who taught me how to control my powers thought. They used to get so out of hand! Do you have any siblings, Ray kun?’ Rima gave him a curious look.
'So is it not common among angels?' The idea that some angels had different abilities was intriguing, but maybe not all that surprising. Ray cringed a bit at the question, taking a bite of his cake. Not his favorite topic. His brothers weren't exactly poster children. Well, to their parents they were, but that was besides the point. 'Yeah. I have a little sister. She lives with me here in town. And I have 5 older brothers.' He munched on a strawberry, thinking back to all the training and yelling and crap he had to put up with.
'I can`t really say it`s common! Not many angels actually get telepathy powers. Everyone usually gets their own type of physic power though!' Rima felt confused as Ray cringed at her question. Did he not like to talk about his siblings? Maybe she shouldn't of asked about them. Too late to go back and undue what she had said though. 'I`m sorry if talking about you`re siblings is an uncomfortable topic for you! I had no idea… I hope you`ll forgive me! It must be nice though to have a whole bunch of siblings! How come you only live with your sister though? Oh! You don`t have to answer that if it makes you uncomfortable by the way, Ray-kun.' Rima could tell what Ray was thinking about. It sounded terrible that he had to go through so much training and yelling and a whole bunch of other things, life just wasn't all that fair to many people was it?
'No, it's fine. Just, wasn't exactly the best family.' If it were up to him, he would probably never talk to them again, and make sure Ko never did either. Luckily, they both turned out okay, if a little odd. If odd meant possessing much more fighting and weapon knowledge than necessary and not good in social situations. 'She was always a lot more like me than our brothers, and wanted to come live with me. She never told me if it was because of something specific, I assumed she just got tired of it all.' Perhaps he had said enough on the subject. What he wanted to talk about was her. 'So, what's an angel doing on the surface?'
"Uuuu… I hate the idea of people picking on you like that." Dis whined, resting her head on her lover’s shoulder and looking up at her with sad eyes. "I’ll comfort you a lot later, ok?"
"I would have done the same if I’d gotten the chance. No one is allowed to be so mean like that! Especially to my Ko-chan." She was feeling rather protective after hearing the story, or rather more protective than usual. She was always a little protective of everyone, no matter who it was.
"Who’s being mean now?" Tor asked, reaching the table and setting down his plate and his bottle of tobasco sauce. Which he then proceeded to pour on his food.
"Aw, thanks, Dis-chan." Ko smiled and snuggled against her wife, giggling a little.
Ray smiled, coughing into his fist to get their attention. “Would you two like to get a room? Or at least wait til the rest of us are gone?”
Ko blushed and punched her brother in the arm. Luckily, maybe, Tor arrived just in time. “Oh, I just told a story from when I was a kid. Long time ago, nothing to worry about.”
"Oh my gosh, Ko-chan! That must have been just awful." Dis gasped, petting Ko’s back in a ‘there there’ sort of way. Giving her wife a quick kiss on the cheek comfort, she turned to scold Ray a bit. "You shouldn’t laugh at something like that you know. Embarrassing moments like that can be really hard on people."
"Well, at least at this point it’s probably just a memory of something in her past. Ko’s a tough lady, she’ll be fine." Gramps consoled them as Gran tried not to giggle too much.
"No, no, it’s fine. It was embarrassing at the time, but now it’s mostly funny." Ko smiled and returned her wife’s kiss. "But you know, when Mom got mad at me and when anyone laughed, Ray was actually the one who stood up for me and told them to stop. So he knows what he’s doing." While she spoke, Ko had reached up and pat Ray on the head. "You probably caused a little too much trouble at one point, Aniki, but it was funny."
"What was I supposed to do? They were mocking you and saying horrible things about you being a nudist. It’s their own fault they hit that wall." He spoke nonchalantly, eating a little between breaths.
"Yeah, they hit the wall alright. Several times. Hard." She couldn’t resist a small smile as she remembered him sticking up for her on multiple occasions. "Lucky for them they ran before you broke any bones."
Ray merely shrugged and continued eating, but his lips showed the barest hint of a small smile.
distoresion asked: Headcanon: Ko came over to Dis' on her candy route and asked for treats. Dis was all 'sure I'll give you some kisses'. And Ko was really excited for a second but then Dis gave her hershey's kisses and Ko just stood there thinking 'Dis you tease… QnQ'.
Ko: I really was so excited. v-v But why did I even expect that? This is Dis after all. She can’t tell the difference between hardcore obvious flirting and just being funny or weird. Trust me, I’ve tried.
